What “Beggin'” means
This song is a plea to a lover not to leave. The speaker admits he once had pride and acted carelessly, but now he feels broken and depends on the other person for emotional survival. The tone is urgent, desperate, and regretful, with repeated begging that shows fear of abandonment. At its core, it is about wanting one more chance to save a damaged relationship and not end up alone.
About Måneskin
Måneskin is an Italian rock band from Rome, formed by Damiano David, Victoria De Angelis, Thomas Raggi and Ethan Torchio. For this song, they were still a rising act in their early recording period, after their debut EP Chosen and before later international fame.
The Måneskin version of Beggin’ is a cover, not an original composition, and it appears on their debut EP Chosen, released in 2017. The song was later issued as a live single in 2021, so those releases should not be confused with the studio EP recording or with later YouTube uploads. The underlying song was first released by The Four Seasons in 1967, with credits to Bob Gaudio and Peggy Farina, which matters because Måneskin are reviving an older English-language pop soul classic inside a modern rock context. Their 2017 studio cover came early in their career, before Eurovision and global breakthrough, and helped frame the band’s habit of reworking older material rather than relying only on new originals.
